Your products are the focal point of your business, they are essentially a delivery of your brand promise and without them you wouldn’t need us or even be in business. So before you upload merchandise to your storefront, you need to get familiar with all the sections on the products page of your Back-Office and learn how to navigate through.
To add a new a product from the navigation panel on the left of your Seller Back Office select Products >> Add Product. This action will take you to the Add Product page where you’ll need to enter the product details (Name, Description, Images etc.) and upload product images.
Here you have the opportunity to expand on the characteristics, features, pros and cons of your product. The text box in this section has an editor, so you can easily add text (and change colour, size, and font), bullet points, paragraphs, links etc.
On your Seller platform, you can upload both/either physical or digital products. Physical products are those that you can see, feel and touch such as clothes, shoes, electronics etc. while Digital products are virtual products that do not require delivery such as e-books, music, software programs etc.
Product status enables you to control the availability of your product. It determines if a product will be visible in your store. The product status on new products is set as a draft by default.
You can set the following statuses:
- Active: the necessary details have been input and the product is available in your store.
- Draft: the product details need some work before they can be displayed.
- Offline: the product will no longer be visible to your customers.
This is where you upload the cost of your product and also where you input discounted prices whenever you’re running a sale, especially if the reduction is specifically for one product.
This field requires that you input the exact value of the product that you have in stock. You have the option to stop selling when out of stock; this will display the product as out of stock on your storefront.
You can upload 5 images per product, there is no preferred image file type so jpegs, pngs and all file types are accepted. File size should not exceed 50kb, this is because larger images will take longer to upload and that can cause errors in the way the picture is displayed. Recommended Pixel Size for optimal results is 100x100.
If your product has more than one option, such as size or colour, then you’ll need to enable variants. This enables you to create combinations of option values to be a variant for each product as necessary.
For example, if you sell shoes and one of your shoes comes with two options: size and colour. The size values are 39, 40 and 42. The colour values are: red and black. One specific variant from these values is a black size 39 shoe.
Once you’ve checked the box enabling product variants, click add a new option and input the Option name and values (each separated by a comma). You may add as many options as necessary.
